Room 100

Wednesday 18th April 2007

Had a bit of a full-on week at work, trying to squeeze everything in before I leave for India on Saturday, but I did manage to pop to 60 Thompson on Wednesday night for the launch of Room 100 lifestyle magazine. I was really pleased to see Olivia Palermo looking very cute in one of my Fall dresses.

The real rock chick, my mate Liz Vap.

Slipping out of there I wanted to drop by the Minetta Tavern, on MacDougal Street on the way home to say hi to a few close friends. This is one of my favourite places in New York, it's a real step back in time. I had my baby shower here last October and I used to live upstairs. It morphed into my living room for a few years.

Klaxons play Studio B

Friday 13th April 2007

My new fave rave band the Klaxons played at Studio B in Williamsburg last night. Went along with Ben Copperwheat ( amazing textile designer who also collaborates with me on my prints). They were fantastic. They don't sound like anyone else, have great, well interesting, hair and all that energy. We somehow ended up watching them from the stage and had a really top nite out.

"Fade 2 Famous". On the way there.

My New York this week

8th - 13th April 2007

I started off the week popping to the Spin magazine / DKNY Jeans charity auction at Milk Gallery. Up for grabs were iconic rock'n'roll photos, the Kaiser Chiefs dj'd and I bumped in to the effervescent Arden Wohl wearing looking a real star in one of my dresses.

Had a lovely civilised afternoon tea at The St.Regis Hotel on Thursday with Sophie Dahl and her sister. Not wanting to miss out, Kitty put in an appearance too.

Later that day, Jonas Mekas, the 84 year old filmaker tipped as the Godfather of American avant-garde cinema, had the opening of his new exhibition "The Beauty of Friends Being Together Quartet" at PS1. The Agnes B supported event featured a multi-channel film installation of his archival footage ( my favourite being Elvis live in his final white jumpsuit period, sped up and overdubbed with Mozart). Agnes danced, I got to meet another New York legend the photographer and Warhol collaborator Marcia Resnick, and we all had a real laugh.

I was thrilled yesterday to see that my clothes have hit young Hollywood. I saw in the press that the adorable "Big Love" actress Ginny Goodwin wore my sequinned Spacey dress from my new fall collection to Milla Jovovich's party at the Chateau Marmont.
